Latest Los Angeles real estate scandal reveals Wall Street windfall

When Torrance city leaders rejected the county’s $30 million extended stay proposal, critics accused them of being anti-homeless. In reality, they were fighting corruption, protecting taxpayers from yet another transfer of millions of dollars of public wealth into private hands.

I’m here to make Jean-Pierre go round in circles and make her stutter like a goat. She was one of the worst offenders in this cover-up and deserves to be held accountable.

As a veteran who remembers wondering many times what the future would hold during government shutdowns, I tip my hat to the man who cared enough to do something practical to help. Talking is cheap. We need more people willing to TO DO noble things.

Anti-gunners remain silent on SCOTUS’ latest Second Amendment case

I don’t know what explains the reluctance to talk about it Wolfordbut I suspect that the main reason they are collectively silent about Hemani is that the left is generally more supportive of marijuana legalization than the right, and the gun control lobby is far more popular in liberal circles than in conservative circles.

Candidate Norm Macdonald

It is exhausting to be told that a Muslim socialist who associates with terrorists is immune from criticism. Donald Trump removing a tree planted in honor of Warren G. Harding provokes a national storm of criticism, but is Mamdani campaigning with the imam who taught the World Trade Center bombers a hero?

Why are Mental Bellyflops Denying the Existence of Antifa Again? Maybe that’s why…

I believe we are engaged in a global struggle against Islamo-communists who are trying to subjugate/eradicate Western civilization. For this to succeed requires, according to Soviet defector Yuri Bezmenov, a terrifying level of violence that is expected to last for around six weeks.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent shut down this NBC host with a simple response

Democrats rejected a clear seven-week continuing resolution that funded the government at Biden-era levels. There were no poison pills or Republican initiatives. That was all they were supporting in March.

Someone orders a drug test: AOC bounces frantically during bizarre rant at Mamdani rally

And AOC is going to continue rambling like this straight to Chuck Schumer’s Senate seat because of this New York City voter base.

WHAT’S ON THE POSTER?

Today, at the Capitol…

We’re on day 27 of Schumer’s shutdown and apparently it’s driving Democrats crazy.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) and House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), however, appear to be holding their ground.

Plenary press…

The courts have been pretty quiet this weekend, but expect that to change this week. We will see some notable decisions, notably on the National Guard front. The 9th Circuit’s latest decision, temporarily suspending its previous pro-administration ruling while it determines whether or not to consider the issue en banc, could create problems — but maybe not. We will know more on Tuesday.

  • ↔️ State of Oregon vs. Trump (National Guard Deployment) — 9th Circuit Court of Appeals issues administrative (temporary) stay of its 10/20 stay pending appeal to resolve en banc proceedings.

In the meantime, we wait to see what the Supreme Court does with the administration’s stay request in the Illinois National Guard case.

UPCOMING ATTRACTIONS

On Tuesday, President Trump will meet with new Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi before participating in a troop visit aboard the USS George Washington. On Tuesday evening, he will attend a reception and dinner with business leaders in Tokyo.

And, unfortunately, it’s not something to look forward to, but Hurricane Melissa is bearing down on Jamaica – say some prayers for them.

MORNING REFLECTION

The pages of RedState are full of examples of Democrats struggling and trying to recapture the magic of their past electoral successes. In 2024, they believed that pairing Minnesota Governor Tim Walz with then-Vice President Kamala Harris was the key to securing the male vote. And to really sell that, they tried to send Walz on a pheasant hunt… and then… remember that weird commercial they did, trying to emphasize what “real men” are?

After years of calling masculinity toxic, Democrats finally realized they still need male votes. But their attempts to reintegrate with men failed (as the elections confirmed). It is clear to me that this is because they were pretending to be what they thought were “real men”. It’s inauthentic and falls flat.

They’re making another attempt now, trotting out Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY-8) with a baseball bat and Rep. Eric Swalwell (CA-14) with his tough talk. It always falls flat. As is the case with a lot of the rhetoric we see from Democrats these days. They act out, pretend to be characters – caricatures – of certain demographics, or what they think will appeal to certain demographics. It doesn’t work.

I think maybe they should invest in acting classes. Or just, you know, try to be real for once.

On a different note, today was my debut as co-host of Mike Ferguson’s morning show on NewsTalkSTL. Come see us someday.

Editor’s note: Schumer’s closure is here. Rather than putting the American people first, Chuck Schumer and radical Democrats forced a government shutdown on health care for illegal immigrants. They own that.
