Trump administrations have threatened the lucrative portfolio of Harvard patents in the midst of his longtime dispute to the university, accusing him of vioder the legal and contractual requirements linked to the research funded by the federal government.

In a letter, the Secretary of Commerce, Howard Lutnick, demanded that Harvard provide in the four weeks a list of all patents arising from research subsidies funded by the federal government, including the way patents are used and if a license requires “substantial American manufacturing”. Harvard did not immediately respond to requests for comments.
