Framework Laptop 16 gets new RTX 5070 GPU option

Last year, Framework expanded its options for fully modular and repairable laptops in a new 16 -inch shape factor, with an additional space for a discreet graphics card. At the time, the AMD Radeon series was the only option for graphics, associated with Ryzen processors. Now the company brings a new refreshment that adds Nvidia GPUs to the mixture.
The big headliner is a new discreet graphic module, based on the laptop version of the GPUROCE RTX 5070 GPURCE. It is essentially the same part as that seen on other laptops for playing, with 8 GB of GDDR7 memory and a blackwell nucleus which can increase its clock up to 2.0 GHz. The new user’s reappoilable module also obtains an updated USB-C port which can manage both the display output and load inputs via the rear of the device. Compared to the previously available Radeon RX 7700 module, the frame estimates that this offers an increase of 30 to 40% of the playing power.
But the GPU is not the only thing that has been updated. The laptop Framework 16 can now be configured with new Ryzen AI 300 processors on the motherboard module, including an AI 7,350 (8 cores) and an AI 9 hx 370 (12 cores), by putting online with some of the most powerful workshop computers on the market. (This is the same part of the new framework office.) RAM options amount to 96 GB of DDR5 on two locations, with double m.2 storage locations for a maximum of 10 TB.
You can configure a new 16 laptop 16 with new parts (and some other upgrades like a refreshing webcam and a 240 Watts charger), with the cheapest configuration lacking in RAM, storage and other additional modules to come to $ 2,200.
But the most exciting option is that the RTX 5070 graphic module updated and new Mères 350 and 370 motherboards are available as a separate upgrades, allowing owners of the existing laptop 16 on new parts for a fraction of the price of a new high power laptop. This is the promise of modularity, upgrading and repair of framework.
The new laptop 16 and improved parts are now pre -order, shipped in November. Hoping that pricing madness no longer causes surprises for the manufacturer of laptops based in the United States.
