What did Michael Penix Jr. needed when there were calls for him to be a bench?

Unfortunately, the defense of Washington commanders is exactly what Penix needed because Sunday in Atlanta, Penix was never better. Unfortunately, the defense of the commanders was exactly what the doctor ordered for Penix.

How bad was it for Penix last week? The Falcons dismissed the coach of the Ike Hilliard recipients and also determined that their attacking coordinator would be moved to the field with Penix, rather than staying in the press box above the stadium.

The Falcons offensive was so anemic the previous week that they could not produce a single point on the dashboard. However, on Sunday, the Falcons accumulated 34 points against the defense of commanders, which had its first seven available today. We entered the game thinking that with all the offensive beginners of commanders on Sunday, the offensive would be really trouble, but that was not the case.

But the defense? How many receiver’s false passes were open, and Penix returned back and throwing the ball to them? In the first half, when the Falcons had possession of the ball, I started to take notes. Once half a finished, here is what my note read: "2nd and 5, 2nd and 1, 2nd and 1, 2nd and 1, 3rd and 2, 3rd & 3." No need to ask if you see the model. The Falcons ran or threw a short film at will in the first half.

The second half was not better. In fact, the day, the defense of the commanders allowed the Falcons to have score training of 45 yards (basket), 73 yards (touchdown), 63 yards (touched), 76 yards (touchdown), 72 yards (touched), 69 yards (goal on the ground).

The defense of commanders did not arrive in Penix. It was only hit twice, a Limot of once. He chose their secondary. Of course, Penix launched much open receivers for a large part of the day. In addition, as I noted above, the racing game of Falconons and the short passes continued to produce very favorable low and distance options for Atlanta.

Last week, the Panthers held Penix in check (36 attempts to pass for only 172 yards) because it produced only 4.8 yards per pass. Against commanders, Penix produced 313 yards over 26 pass attempts. With a bag for -6 yards, Penix had a 307 net passage, so it has an average of 11.8 yards per pass pass.

Next week, they face Justin Herbert.
