Trump Shifts Strategic Objectives in Iran Every Day

On NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) said President Donald Trump has been changing strategic objectives in Iran every day.
Jeffries said: “Certainly, as far as the Ayatollah is concerned, he was a bad actor. And I’m not going to shed any tears over his departure. I think the big question is: Why did we get into this war? What are our strategic objectives? Because they change every day. And what is the plan to get out of this conflict? The American people do not want to see billions of dollars spent on bombing Iran in the Middle East, while at the same time moment. My Republican colleagues of this president are not willing to spend a dime to reduce their grocery bills, spend a dime to make them more affordable, go see a doctor or do anything to address this affordability crisis that is very real in the United States of America.
He added: “This war of choice in the Middle East is unpopular. As Democrats, we are going to continue to make the case to the American people that we should be stewards of spending taxpayer dollars in a way that is actually designed to improve their lives and make their lives more affordable, as opposed to another endless war in the Middle East, where we spend billions and billions of dollars dropping bombs and do nothing to lower the cost of living.”
