Trump Spread False Information About Brown Shooting. That’s a Problem

Indiana lawmakers voted against Trump’s mid-cycle redistricting proposal on Thursday, choosing to keep the same electoral maps rather than restructure them to benefit Republicans. In the weeks leading up to the vote, the president intimidated Hoosier state lawmakers in an effort to shore up their support.
After the vote, Trump turned his fury on Senate President Pro Tempore Rodric Bray, the leading opponent of redistricting. Bray believes the state should instead focus on flipping a pre-existing district rather than blowing up the entire map — a risky move that would reduce Republican margins in new districts and could even result in a loss of seats, he told Politico.
Trump has made it clear that if a Republican is not willing to follow his agenda to the letter, he will throw his weight behind his primary challenger. Hours before Thursday’s vote, he posted: “Rod Bray and his friends won’t last long in politics, and I will do everything in my power to make sure they don’t harm the Republican Party and our country again.” »
