Humanoid Athletes Compete in Groundbreaking Games

This year has marked the very first international sporting event to present humanoid robots as anhletes. These robots, with the help of humans behind their creation, clashed in the world games of humanoid robots to present the athletic and practical capacities that these machines have.
More than 200 teams from 16 countries clashed by what was officially nicknamed the “Robots Olympic Games”.
What are the global humanoid robot games?
People have opposed robots to each other for as long as robotics has been a hobby. With the advancement of AI and humanoid robots in recent years, it was just a matter of time before an Olympic style sporting event approached. This year, China felt ready to face this feat. The event was rightly held at Speed Speed Skating Oval in Beijing, which was originally built for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games.
Thursday’s opening ceremony included several performances featuring both humans and humanoids, including dance routines and musical acts, a fashion show, traditional Chinese performances and an overview of a robot dance routine that could compete with that of Australian Olympian, Raygun. Although robotic artists are generally slower and less fluid in their movements than their human counterparts, it was really remarkable to see.
During the three-day event, robot athletes clashed in events such as athletics, 5-V-5 football, kickboxing and gymnastics. The robots have also been tested in challenges based on a scenario such as garbage collection in a hotel room, the distribution of medicines in a pharmacy and handling industrial materials. These trials were included and designed to show how these humanoids work in real circumstances.
As physically and technologically advanced as these athletes, many events have proven to be more comical than competitive. Throughout the weekend, robots played in football crashed, fighting robots have plummeted after failing to pick up kicks and punches, and various humanoids have stunned on themselves and other shot competitors. Although some have been able to straighten up, greatly appeal to the crowd, human intervention was often necessary. In addition, while the proper uni -h1 of China excelled in the track competitions compared to its robot counterparts, who liked to lose parts of the body, it nevertheless had a delay on human competitors.

What inspired this event?
The global humanoid robot games were not all fun and, well, games. The event was mainly an opportunity for China to show its latest advances in the AI and humanoid robotics sectors. In an effort to dominate the field, China has focused on humanoid robotics in recent years, and according to a nameless Chinese media, it now aims to be able to train 1000 humanoids simultaneously for general use over the next two years. The Chinese Shanghai training installation, which is at the center of this objective, is currently able to train simultaneously more than 100 units at a time.
However, the participating teams took this as a chance to test “interesting new and exciting approaches” without losing money on failed products, as a member of the German Football team in robotics, HTWK Robots, told Reuters. As with other robotics competitions, games have also provided engineers and human programmers involved in a chance to discover new approaches for old problems and network with other teams, while adding a good dose of competition to further stimulate innovation.
Not only have the agility and coordination of robots been tested. The teams also had the chance to observe the efficiency and endurance of their robots, the function of components such as sensors and engines, and how the decision -making capacities of their machines took place in a foreign environment. Given that technological companies are generally trying to maintain innovative technology under Wraps to the big beginnings, this event also gave the teams a clearer idea of the measures against which they are against the market for humanoid robots.
Run to the future
Although athletes were not as fast or coordinated as human Olympians, games were an excellent way to highlight to what extent technology has already arrived in robotics, automation and IA divisions. Not long ago, we were speculating what the age of AI would look like, and this event marks the beginning of these ideals which are fully materialized.
As the games have pointed out, it will not take long before humanoid robots become a basic part of our daily life. Humanoid workers have already been introduced in restaurants, warehouses and tourist destinations around the world. The competitor of humanoid robot games, Starbot Inc., is a company based in California that hopes to enter these work routes with their contemporary ideas. Ideally, however, the robots will not be limited to the external workforce. A large part of the improvement of safety protocols and refining movements and decision -making capacities consists in preparing these humanoids for domestic use.
Humans and humanoids who participated are not the only ones to hold the future in their hands; Spectators do it too. Not only does an event like this engine may be interested in personal purchases of humanoid robots, but it is also an educational opportunity. For many curious spectators, this may have been their first demonstration of humanoid capacities, and for others, it may have aroused personal interest in these areas or related.
Although it will take a long time before seeing AI like that of Jetsons‘Rosie the robot or IronJarvis, it is certainly clear that society is getting closer and closer to this perspective. Robots in competition as anhletes and finishing a parkour, as with Bostondy“Atlas, was the punchline of a joke that robots become human. Now it becomes another daily part of our reality. Will you be attentive to next year Humanoid robots?
