You need to listen to the new Mandy, Indiana record: URGH

Often I focus on recommending older media that isn’t currently getting a lot of attention. But this week, I can’t stop listening to Mandy’s new album, Indiana long enough to think about anything else. It’s still early, obviously, but URGENT is my favorite release of 2026 so far. The band I fell in love with I saw a way found brand new equipment.

Singer Valentine Caulfield is even more uncompromising. Most of the lyrics are in French, but even if we don’t know what she’s saying, we sense the contempt. On “Magazine”, she spits in your face while seething:

I’m coming for you

So go run
