Trump To Host Xi Jinping For Official State Visit
President Donald Trump announced Monday that he will welcome Chinese President Xi Jinping to the White House in 2026 for an official state visit.

“Our relationship with China is extremely strong! This call followed our very successful meeting in South Korea three weeks ago. Since then, significant progress has been made on both sides to keep our agreements current and accurate,” Trump wrote.
“Now we can see the bigger picture. To that end, President Xi invited me to visit Beijing in April, which I accepted, and I reciprocated by allowing him to be my guest for a state visit to the United States later in the year. We agreed that it is important that we communicate often, which I look forward to doing. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” he added.
Trump met with Xi in October during a week-long trip to Asia. After the meeting, Trump wrote on TruthSocial that there is enormous respect between the two countries. He announced that China had agreed to help America with the fentanyl crisis and would begin buying soybeans, adding that China could engage in a “very important transaction” with the United States.
The president added that China had agreed to continue the flow of “rare earths, critical minerals, magnets, etc.” ”, which Trump previously said the country was threatening to interrupt.
Monday’s phone call was intended to build on the October conversation between the two leaders.
Xi visited Mar-a-Lago during Trump’s first term, something the president considered facilitating again during his second term. The Chinese president visited the White House for an official state visit in 2015 under former President Barack Obama.
