Taylor Swift’s new album breaks her own sales records

TasrmTaylor Swift’s latest album, The Life of A Showgirl has already obtained the largest opening week of the United Kingdom in 2025, after having sold 304,000 copies since Friday.
The total eclipses sales of the first week of its last two studio albums: the tortured poets department of 2024 (270,000 copies) and the midnights of 2022 (204,000).
With only three days counted, she made the biggest sales of the first week in the United Kingdom since the Ed Sheeran division sold 672,000 copies in 2017.
The star is also on the right track to have the best -selling album of the year as a whole. The current title holder is Sabrina Carpenter, who appears on the life of a Showgirl-title song. His short album N ‘Sweet has changed 444,000 copies since January.
SWIFT also broke records in the United States, where it scored 2.7 million sales on Friday only.
This marks the biggest SWIFT sales week and the second largest week of sale for any album since 1991, when the modern graphic methodology started.
Only Adele’s 25 did better – selling 3.378 million copies during its first week in 2015.
The life of a showgirl also broke the American record for the most vinyl albums sold in a single week.
Swifies has taken 1.2 million copies on wax – at least in part because the star has published eight variant collection of the disc.
The previous one -week record was also set by Swift when his latest album, The Torred Poets Department, sold 859,000 copies on vinyl during his first week.

In the United Kingdom, only one other album changed more than 100,000 copies in a week this year – the people of Sam Fender who watch.
Ed Sheeran’s latest game sold 67,000 units when it was released last month.
During the summer, two albums (cock Me by Reneé Rapp and The Oasis Compilation Time Flay) exceeded the graphics with less than 20,000 sales.
