Bengals QB Joe Burrow to have toe surgery, expected to miss at least three months

The Bengals quarter-Arrière, Joe Burrow, is planned for surgery on his lawn toe and is expected to be sidelined for three months, reports the initiate of CBS Sports NFL Jonathan Jones. Burrow suffered an injury in the second quarter of the 31-27 victory on Sunday against Jacksonville Jaguars when Arik Armstead dismissed him.
Burrow stayed on the lawn for several moments before the training staff allowed him to leave the ground. Burrow appeared later on crutches and with a walking boot after an MRI. The feet specialist, Dr. Robert Anderson, supervises his case, according to ESPN.
The return player of the year in the title of the NFL completed 7 of the 13 passes for 76 yards and a touchdown before its release. The replacement veteran Jake Browning took over and delivered a winning score at the end of the match, lifting Cincinnati at a 2-0 start. He finished 21 of the 32 attempts for 241 yards with two affected and three interceptions, including the winning touch of a game with only 18 seconds to play in the fourth quarter.
With Burrow sidelined until at least December, Browning will probably guide the Bengals offensive through traveling by coming car to the Vikings of Minnesota and the Broncos de Denver before the Bengals returned home on October 5 against the Detroit lions. Cincinnati also has Rypian Brett in his training team.
Bengal coach Zac Taylor did not provide detailed update on the state of Burrow after the match, but the team is ready to rely on the Browning experience. Washington’s former free free agent is in his fifth season with Cincinnati after spending the first two years of his NFL career in the Vikings training team in Minnesota.
Browning has shown that it can manage the starting role under pressure. In 2023, he started seven games for the Bengals after Burrow underwent a wrist injury at the end of the season, winning three of his first four departures – including a dramatic return of 14 points in overtime against the Vikings. He became the first quarter of Cincinnati to win three of his first four departures since Boots Esiason in 1984.
Browning finished in percentage of the NFL completion (70.4%) in 2023, launching 1,936 yards and 12 affected with seven interceptions.
Browning signed with Bengals on a two -year contract in April 2024 and entered the 2025 season as a reliable backup while Burrow recovers from his last injury.
