Trump’s First Test in Office

The worst disaster of aviation in almost a quarter of a century is one of the first tests of the second administration of Donald Trump. Panelists on Washington week with the Atlantic Joined to discuss how the president responded to the crisis.

After the aviation crash on the Potomac this week, Trump decided to blame diversity in the Federal Aviation Administration for the accident. These comments are a continuation of Trump’s behavior throughout his first mandate and his two campaigns – but how his answer will affect him politically, said Mark Leibovich last night.

Trump works in “an environment without consequences,” continued Leibovich. “In the end, Donald Trump will do what he can get away with it, and if a few points on his approval ratings will move the needle on this subject are not clear.”
