Michigan authorities presented limited updates on the attack on LDS Grand Blanc Church during a brief press conference on Sunday evening.

- It is believed that the shooter used an accelerating and likely essence, then set fire to the church.
- Alleged explosive devices were located, but there is no evidence that they were used to trigger the fire.
- The original call 911 arrived at 10:25 am and the shooter was neutralized at 10:33 am
- The shooter, Thomas Jacob Sanford, 40, is a veteran of the war in Iraq who has a son with congenital hyperinsulinism.
