Trump’s ‘no tax on tips’ law applies to content creators

The major Big Beautiful Bill of the President was adopted in July, and part of this bill was the new law “without tax on tips” which would allow workers to win tips and not have to declare them on taxes. The US Treasury published a list of professions eligible for this law last week. In a somewhat surprising way, content creators of various types have made the list.
The list mainly includes the things you expect, including barmans, waiting staff, food servers, game workers such as dealers, dancers (yes, these types), bailiffs, lobby, bell towers and artists.
Nestled in the list are “digital content creators”, which the Treasury defines as people who “produce and publish digital original entertainment or content -oriented content, such as live flows, short videos or podcasts”.

How content creators redefine Hollywood power structure
Comedians, singers, musicians and DJs are also included. These types of artists are often seen on streaming platforms like Twitch, so this law covers them both.
There are warnings to the law. The tax deduction is capped at $ 25,000 per year, which popular streamers will probably exceed. In addition, the law indicates that the advice cannot be struck off if they are received “during certain trades or companies specified – including the fields of health, the arts of the performances and athletics”.
Be that as it may, this will probably change the way banners and content creators earn money to make sure they get closer to this $ 25,000 ceiling as possible. The tilting, often called “donations”, was a main income engine for content creators, especially streamers on Twitch and other platforms. By one Study conducted in 202419% of major influencers said they had received advice from their audiences on all platforms. This number is probably much higher on streaming platforms on Twitch.
Since the law encourages the advice to be received, it is not a giant jump to assume that this will change the way in which the content of the content of content is looking for revenues outside of standard stuff such as advertising. As a Hollywood journalist put it skillfullyDo not be surprised if content creators start to ask people to love, subscribe and suck you.
