Two Delta planes collide on LaGuardia taxiway, one person injured

Two Canadair jets operated by Endeavour Air, a subsidiary of Delta Air Lines, collided on a taxi track at Laguardia airport in New York on Wednesday evening.
The incident took place at 9:58 p.m. between two regional jets from CRJ-900 Canadair.
One was an outgoing flight and the other entering, according to the port authority of New York and New Jersey.
A Delta spokesperson confirmed to Fox News Digital that on-board agent had undergone a minor injury and had been treated by the EMT before being transported to a local hospital as a precaution. No other passengers were injured.

Delta confirmed the incident, describing it as a “low -speed collision” involving Endeavour Air Flight 5155 from Laguardia to Roanoke, Virginia and Endeavor Air Flight 5047 arriving from Charlotte, in North Carolina.
“The Delta teams of our New York-Laguardia center are trying to ensure that our customers are supported after two Delta connection planes operated by Endeavor Air were involved in a low-speed collision during the taxi,” said Delta spokesperson Morgan Durrant. “Delta will work with all the competent authorities to examine what happened as the security of our customers and people above all. We apologize to our customers for experience.”

They said preliminary information indicates that the leaving airplane wing contacted the fuselage of the arriving aircraft.
The passengers of the two planes were deployed on the traffic lane and returned to Terminal C by bus. Delta said customers had received food and drinks, as well as with accommodation and rejections for those whose trips have been disrupted.

The port authority has not reported any impact on airport operations. Delta said it would work with FAA, NTSB and port authority to review what happened, stressing that “the security of our customers and our people comes above all.”
