You would be forgiven to think that the two models are terribly similar because of their names, but the POWERDETECT is the more specific (and therefore more) stick. The POWERDETECT also justifies its higher price by offering an additional functionality called Directiontect, which simply means that it can clean even as well when it is removed back as when it advances – a rare addition that you will not find in many machines at its reduced price. It also has a larger battery evaluated up to 70 minutes of driving against only 60 for wireless detection.
The two models benefit from the detection characteristics of Shark, which see them automatically adjust the suction as a function of the type of floor they feel, how dirty the floors, when the cleaning head detects it near an edge and when it detects low light. In the case of this last point, the cleaning head will automatically brighten up the headlights on the cleaning head to reveal more dirt and debris.
Another practical feature that they both share is a folding baguette so that you can clean under the furniture without having to become too low yourself.
In the end, we recommend the more affordable detection of detection to people whose houses mainly have hard floors and are not particularly too large. The POWERDETECT is ideal for large houses, and in particular those with pets, because its floor head can manage fur and the threads more effectively.
One or the other option is excellent, and both can certainly be considered as among the best shark vacuum cleaners around.
