The storm – The 10th to hit Vietnam this year – pulled the earth late Sunday, generating winds of 130 kilometers (80 miles) per hour.
Thousands of houses and businesses have been damaged or destroyed, the authorities of three provinces told AFP.
The images published by AFP have shown that wavy metal roofs blown with household buildings and debris strewn in the saturated streets of the Côte de Nghe and the province.
“The wind blew my roof towards the sky, then it fell, breaking everything. I had to cover my head and rush to my neighbor to be safe,” said Trinh Thi le, 71, in the center of Quang Tri, quoted by the Tuoi-Tre newspaper managed by the state.
At least nine people were killed when a Typhon -related whirlwind swept the north of the province of Ninh Binh on Monday, the premises Disaster Agency said.
One person was killed in the province of Hue and another in Thanh Hoa, while around 20 have disappeared, the authorities of local and national disasters reported.
Among those who are not counted, there were nine people whose fishing boats were lost at sea Sunday evening after their ships were not anchored for winds and strong currents, police said.

More than 53,000 people were evacuated to schools and medical centers converted into temporary shelters before Bualoi which strikes Vietnam, said the Ministry of the Environment.
Four national airports and part of the national road were closed on Monday. More than 180 flights have been canceled or delayed, the airport authorities said.
Certain parts of Nghe An and the central province producing steel of Ha Tinh were without power, and the schools were closed in the affected regions.
Since he touched the landing in Vietnam, Bualoi has weakened as he went to the neighboring Laos.
The storm beat the small islands in the center of the Philippines last week, killing at least 11 people and forcing 400,000 to evacuate.
In Vietnam, 175 people were killed or disappeared due to natural disasters from January to August this year, said the General Statistics Office (GSO).

Certain parts of Nghe An and the central province producing steel of Ha Tinh were without power, and the schools were closed in the affected regions.
The total of damages was worth around $ 371 million, almost triple of the amount of the same period in 2024, said the GSO.
Scientists warn that storms become more powerful as the world warms up due to the effects of man -focused climate change.
Typhoon Yagi killed hundreds of people in Vietnam in September from last year and caused economic losses worth $ 3.3 billion.
