U.K. Ambassador to U.S. Peter Mandelson fired by Prime Minister Keir Starmer over Jeffrey Epstein ties

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has dismissed his ambassador to the United States, the political party politician Peter Mandelson, after days of revelation on Mandelson’s friendship with the deceased financier and the sex offender sentenced Jeffrey Epstein.
“In the light of additional information in the emails written by Peter Mandelson, the Prime Minister asked the Minister of Foreign Affairs to withdraw him as ambassador,” the British government published on Thursday said. “E-mails show that the depth and extent of Peter Mandelson’s relationship with Jeffrey Epstein are materially different from those known at the time of his appointment. In particular, Peter Mandelson’s suggestion that Jeffrey Epstein has been illustrated and should be challenged is new information.

Pressure began to get on the British government to take measures when messages written by Mandelson were released by the Chamber’s surveillance Committee earlier this month as part of an “birthday book” of 2003 for Epstein.
They included a series of short notes accompanied by photos.
“Once upon a time, an intelligent and lively man whom they call” mysterious “parachuted in my life,” wrote Mandelson. “You spent many hours waiting for him to show up … And often, hardly you got used to having it, you would suddenly be alone … again …”
With a photo of Mandelson fixing a table alongside two women, whose faces were obscured, he wrote: “Leaving you with” interesting “friends to entertain instead.”
Mandleson wrote that Epstein was known to “take you by surprise … in one of his glorious houses he likes to share with his friends (yum yum)”, and that “whenever he is in the world, he remains my best boyfriend!”

Epstein was charged criminally in 2006 for the accusations of a state of solicitation of prostitution in Florida, three years after the writing of the book.
Last week, asked about the message of Mandelson’s “birthday book”, Prime Minister Starmer said Mandelson “expressed his deep regret on several occasions” for his relationship with Epstein and “he is right to do so. New revelations on Mandelson’s communications with Epstein
On Wednesday, Bloomberg published a report based on 100 emails sent between Mandelson and Epstein between 2005 and 2010.
In these emails, which CBS News was unable to be verified, Epstein and Mandelson discussed his legal affairs, and Mandelson expressed his support for Epstein, offering to increase his situation with at least one of his contacts and encouraging Epstein to retalitor using Sun Tzu “art of war” strategies.
In a 2008 email, published by Bloomberg, Mandelson wrote: “You must be incredibly resilient, fight for anticipated release and be philosophical on this subject as much as you can. Everything has been years of torture and now you have to show the world how much you are and your fort.”
In an interview with Podcast published on Wednesday, Mandelson expressed his regret in the face of his relationship with Epstein.
“I regret very much that i Fell for his lies. I Fell and Acceptance assurances that he had given me about his indication, his original criminal case in Florida, like very many people, i Took at face Value What He Said. With Hindsight, with Fresh Information Many Years Later, we realized that we Had Been Wrong to Believe Him – He’s a Charismatic, Criminal Liar, WE NOW SEE – And I Regret Very Much Indeed… I felt it like an albatross by my neck sincere, “said Mandelson.
Mandelson said he had never seen an Epstein committed crimes.
“During all the time, I was associated, I have never seen the reprehensible acts. I have never seen any evidence of criminal activity. I have never looked for and he did not offer any presentation to women of the way he would have been associated with others. In light,” said Mandelson. “This is why I feel so deeply upset by what was now revealed about what he did to women and why I feel deeply upset that I was welcomed by him and that I continued my association with him for much longer than I should have done.”
The British ambassador now training said during his interview for the podcast which he expected to make his correspondence with Epstein be made public.
“I do not doubt at all that there is a lot of traffic, correspondence, exchanges between us, absolutely, and we know that they are surface, we know that they will come out, we know that they will be very embarrassing, and I know that I will deeply regret it and have been presented in the first place,” said Mandelson. “But I cannot rewrite the story. What I can do is express my deep sympathy for those who were badly treated with him and secondly I can accept, yes I can accept, that I continued my association with him for too long.”
