UFC books Yaroslav Amosov vs. Neil Magny

Yaroslav Amosov has his first assignment in the UFC in the form of one of the promotion’s most experienced competitors.
A former Bellator welterweight champion who recently signed with the UFC, Amosov (28-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) will make his promotional debut Dec. 13 at UFC on ESPN 73 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Two people with knowledge of the match recently informed MMA Junkie about the match, but asked to remain anonymous since the promotion has yet to make an official announcement. The booking was first reported by Best Fight Picks.
Amosov, 32, rose to prominence with an 8-0 start under the Bellator banner that included a title victory over Douglas Lima. He then moved away from fighting inside the cage to fighting outside of it. Amosov joined the Ukrainian military during the country’s war with Russia before eventually returning to defend his title in a unification bout against Logan Storley in February 2023.
At Bellator 301 in November 2023, Amosov was upset by Jason Jackson, who won the title by unanimous decision. The appearance was his last inside the Bellator cage and took place during the promotion’s last regular event before it was purchased and disbanded the PFL.
Amosov struggled to find fights after leaving Bellator following its acquisition by the PFL. He eventually landed a short-notice CFFC fight against UFC alum Curtis Millender, whom he submitted in the first round. He then campaigned for his chance in the UFC – and eight months later, he got it.

Magny, 38, holds the record for most wins, most fight time and most fights in UFC welterweight history. A member of the promotion’s roster since 2013, Magny hasn’t let Father Time stop him from winning fights. He enters the fight with a two-fight winning streak that includes pinfall victories over Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos and Jake Matthews.
