UAE summons Israeli diplomat to condemn the attack on Qatar targeting Hamas leaders


Dubai, United Arab Emirates (AP) – The United Arab Emirates summoned Israel on Friday to condemn Israel’s attack on Hamas management in Qatar, increasing pressure on the country while Qatar’s first diplomat visits Washington.
On Friday, the meeting saw the Minister of State Emirati at international cooperation Reem Bint Ebrahim al-Hashimy “denounce the flagrant and loose Israeli attack” against Qatar, the water said. The Israeli media reported on the meeting, but there was no immediate reading of the Israeli government. Al-Hashimy spoke to David Ohad Horsandi, the deputy chief of the Israeli mission in the country. He marks a rare moment for the United Arab Emirates to invoke an Israeli diplomat after having concluded a diplomatic recognition agreement with Israel five years ago.
The invocation became before an emergency meeting of the Arab and Islamic nations next week in Qatar for the attack.
Meanwhile, the Qatar Prime Minister was to meet US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington after approaching the United Nations Security Council before. The Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, who is also the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, said Thursday at the meeting that “Israel was trying to reorganize the region by force”.
