The former UFC champion, Randy Couture, suffered serious burns and other injuries on Tuesday when he crushed the car he was driving during training walks on a race track near Kansas City, Mo.

The 62 -year -old retirement fighter and former army drilling sergeant was transported by plane in a burning center and stayed there on Wednesday morning. He should recover.

“If you know something about Randy-he is a monster of nature and will survive this like everything else,” said the longtime sewing manager and lawyer Samuel Spira, in an email on Wednesday afternoon.

No other update on the sewing state will be issued before Thursday, said Spira.

TMZ was the first to appear on the sewing accident and its injuries, which include burns in the first and second degree, trauma injuries and smoke inhalation. The car he was driving was completely destroyed, TMZ reported, and we don’t know what caused the accident.

Champion of state wrestler at Lynnwood High School in Washington State, Couture continued in sport in the army in 1982-1988 and Oklahoma State, finishing second in the NCAA division I championships in 1991 and 1992.

Couture has become a superstar of mixed martial arts, becoming six times UFC champion in heavy and heavyweight divisions and was inducted into the organization’s renowned temple in 2006.

More recently, Couture has become involved in Hot Rod Racing. Scag Racing announced in April that Couture would lead to the NHRA Pro Mod program team from later this year.
