UFC returning to Shanghai for ‘Fight Night’ on Aug. 29, 2026

“The Red Dragon” returns once again to Octagon action.
For the second year in a row, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to China for Fight Night, which Shanghai is scheduled to host on August 29, 2026.

Journalist Chris Presnell first shared the news after the Shanghai Municipal Bureau released its sports event schedule for 2026, officially listing UFC Shanghai.
In addition, a fifth season of On the way to the UFC received the green light. The semi-finals of the show will take place the day before, on August 28, while the opening round is scheduled to begin in May in Macau, China. For context, the season 4 finale of On the way to the UFC took place at UFC 325 in Sydney, Australia, and featured four fights that opened the numbered event on Paramount+.
Last year’s UFC Shanghai delivered plenty of action, headlined by Zhang Mingyang against. Johnny Walkerwith Walker earning a second-round stoppage victory (watch highlights). The co-main event saw Aljamain Sterling defeat Brian Ortega by unanimous decision. Other notable results include Charles Johnson knock out The lonely Kavanagh (watch highlights), Kyle Daukaus earn a knockout victory Michael Pereira (look at him), and Sergei Pavlovich pointing Waldo Cortés-Acosta.
