Ugreen Nexode Power Bank 20000mah 165W: Review
The Nexode Power Bank University A 165 W of power and a 20000mAh, as well as some features aimed at improving convenience.
In accordance with the range in which this food bank is located, the Nexode has a dark gray finish with black accents, which makes it slightly more interesting to look at than the other food banks. The smooth mat finish also adds a hint of elegance, giving the impression that it is a premium product.
However, this denies the real quality of construction of the Nexode. Despite its heaviness, some panels can be flexed slightly; They are not as solid as those you will find on many Anker power banks, for example, which are some of the best electricity banks in terms of construction.
However, the Nexode should be enough for travel purposes. What is more a problem when you travel is how bulky it is. It could have a relatively short length, but it is quite thick, and personally, I would have preferred that the compromise is the opposite, because a thinner bank is easier to store in a bag.
However, I appreciated the rubber feet on the rear panel. I have not noticed their absence on other banks of electricity before, but seeing them here made me realize how useful they are to protect the bank and support the surfaces of the scratches. They also prevent the bank from slipping.
The Nexode also has a large screen, although, unfortunately, reading is considerably smaller than space seems to allow it. It is also quite weak, which, combined on the reflective screen, can make it still difficult to see.
The information he provides, however, is very useful. In addition to the percentage of battery life, there are also estimated charging times for connected devices or the bank itself, as well as an indicator showing which connections are currently active and their power. By pressing the power button, brings you to a second screen, where you can also display the voltage and ampérage of each connection.
Perhaps the remarkable characteristic of the Nexode, however, is the Retractable USB-C cable. This is easy to use, although it tends to twist, which can make it difficult to put back. It is also quite thin and does not feel particularly robust, but Ucreen claims that it can withstand more than 25,000 retractions and more than 10,000 elbows.
In addition to this cable, you also get two USB ports: a type A and a type-C. Like the retractable cable, the last port is both an input and an exit, while the first is only released. The two USB-C interfaces are able to receive and deliver 100W each, although if the two are used at the same time, the port will fall to 65W. The USB-A port offers a maximum of 33W.
The Nexode also supports the load at three, but in such cases, the two USB ports fall to 10W, while the retractable cable retains its capacity from 100W. There is also a fillet load mode to load smaller devices with more sensitive batteries, such as wireless headphones and smart watches, activated by maintaining the power button for five seconds.
Using the retractable USB-C cable, I managed to load my Lenovo ThinkPad T14S Gen 4, which has a 57Wh battery, from 5% to 90% in less than 90 minutes, before the Nexode is completely exhausted. It’s pretty fast, but it’s a shame if it is exhausted before switching to 100%, and means that you can’t even get a full load. The loading of the bank itself in full vacuum has taken about an hour and 40 minutes, which is again a respectable moment.
The Nexode is expensive for an electricity bank, even with so much power, coming $ 99.99 / £ 79.99 (around $ 150 in). The Laptop Anker Laptop Bank has almost the same price, but has a larger capacity and two integrated cables. It is also slightly thinner and better than the Nexode.
We have seen it for less than its original price, and if you can catch it in a sale, the Nexode could always prove to be a solid choice to load your large devices.
