USA, UK Sign Historic Tech Prosperity Agreement – RedState

President Donald Trump and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer, have signed a historic trade agreement, which is called the United States-UK Tech Prosperity Deal.

The signing of the real understanding memorandum took place early Thursday and was surprisingly short:

The White House has already sent a press release describing the objective of the agreement.

The aim of this understanding memorandum (hereinafter “Agreement Protocol) is to allow collaboration towards joint opportunities of mutual interest for strategic sciences and technological disciplines, in particular artificial intelligence (AI), civil nuclear, merger and quantum technologies.

His Majesty’s government has also published an almost identical description.

The agreement describes several “areas of cooperation”:

• Accelerate AI innovation, including the implementation of joint research programs
• Release civilian nuclear energy. This is almost optimistic, praising a golden nuclear era. There is a brief note on fusion energy: “Participants intend to pursue collaboration initiatives in the fields of advanced nuclear reactors, advanced nuclear fuels and fusion energy …”
• Secure quantum advantage: this seems to be an agreement to work together on quantum computer science. This section begins:

As the main world quantum countries, participants join their forces to ensure that participants are the first to achieve a real quantum advantage. Together, participants intend to build powerful quantum machines that transform defense, finance and health care, protect citizens from participants and create highly qualified jobs.

So far, this is the main agreement between the two governments of President Trump’s historic visit to the United Kingdom.

President Trump subsequently discussed the agreement at a joint press conference with Prime Minister Starmer.

The president said:

We also unite their forces on quantum computers and nuclear energy, a natural partnership for nearby allies.

It is an interesting matter, but as is always the case in such things, the devil in detail, and these details have not yet been developed. According to President Trump’s comments, it seems that we will give the United Kingdom a lot of resources; Hopefully it sounds this way.

Will this revive the “special relationship” of America and Great Britain after the Second World War, this relationship which was so apparent in the years of Reagan-Thatcher, but which has erased it since? This remains to be seen.
