OpenAI: You can use third-party apps like Spotify and Canva in ChatGPT

OPENAI and CEO SAM Altman want Chatgpt to evolve beyond a conversational tool in a full -fledged digital assistant – which can use other applications for you. The company has announced a new initiative to create a “new generation of applications in Chatgpt”, allowing users to connect and interact directly with third -party services inside the chatbot.
The new feature was unveiled during the Openai development day, during which the company presented several live demos stressing how it could work in practice. In an example, chatgpt connected to Spotify to generate a reading list based on the favorite songs of the user, created and registered automatically in the Spotify application.

Another demo has shown an OpenAi Taging Canva engineer in the cat to design a poster for a dog goods company. After clarifying that he should seem fanciful and bright with a without serif font, Chatgpt has returned several poster options generated via Canva. The system encourages users to authorization the first time an application is connected, but once approved, it can use this application freely in future cats.

OPENAI has also demonstrated educational and real estate integrations, such as the creation of an automatic learning course plan via Racera and the search for houses for sale in Pittsburgh via Zillow.
From today, chatgpt users can connect to applications, including Spotify, Canva, Booking.com, Expedia, Racera, Zillow and Figma. Altman added that more integration, like Doordash and Uber, arrive later this year. In addition, developers will soon be able to submit their own applications for examination and publication within Chatgpt. OPENAI also plans to launch a dedicated directory of applications, offering users an easier way to discover and install integrations. As for monetization, Altman says that society will share more details in the near future.
This thrust marks a key step in the broader vision of agentic OPNAI, especially after the company recently introduced instant payment, a feature that allows users to make purchases directly in the cat.
