Democrat Implosions Imminent After Scott Bessent Announces Historic Change to U.S. Paper Currency – RedState

It’s a day that ends in “y,” meaning it’s a day when the Trump administration can make an announcement that could send the usual suspects to the fainting couches.
No doubt, that’s exactly what they did after President Trump posted Thursday night on Truth Social that he would sign an executive order directing Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Markwayne Mullin to pay Transportation Security Administration (TSA) workers amid Democrats’ continued refusal to fund DHS, as RedState reported earlier.
“Because Democrats have recklessly created a true national crisis, I am using my authorities under the law to protect our great country, as I always will!” Trump wrote. “Therefore, I will sign an order directing Secretary of Homeland Security Markwayne Mullin to immediately pay our TSA agents.”

As if that wasn’t enough to rock the left and the mainstream media, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent’s announcement Thursday of a major change in U.S. paper money will likely accelerate the pace of the Democrats’ implosion:
In honor of the 250th anniversary of the United States of America, President Donald J. Trump’s signature will appear on future U.S. paper currency alongside the Secretary of the Treasury, marking the first time in history by a sitting president.
“Under President Trump’s leadership, we are on a path to unprecedented economic growth, lasting dollar dominance, and fiscal strength and stability,” said Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. “There is no more powerful way to recognize the historic achievements of our great country and President Donald J. Trump than U.S. dollar bills bearing his name, and it is only fitting that this historic currency is issued on the semi-quincentennial.”
“As we approach the 250th anniversary of our great nation, the U.S. currency will continue to be a symbol of prosperity, strength and the steadfast spirit of the American people under the leadership of President Trump,” said Treasurer Brandon Beach. “The President’s mark on history as the architect of the economic renaissance of America’s Gilded Age is undeniable. Printing his signature on American currency is not only appropriate, but well-deserved.”

The names of Trump and Bessent appearing on the currency also symbolize another historical change:
[Trump’s] the name will appear next to that of Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. As a result, the U.S. Treasurer, whose name has appeared on the currency for over a century, will not appear on the currency.
The news follows last week’s approval of a 24-karat gold commemorative coin that will feature Trump’s likeness.
The Federal Commission of Fine Arts officially voted Thursday in favor of a new 24-karat gold commemorative coin depicting President Trump, amid backlash from Democrats and other stakeholders. https://t.co/yUY5iKw0ZA pic.twitter.com/F7krQMjX3s
“The administration has also proposed a separate Trump-themed $1 coin, but it is unclear when it will enter circulation,” ABC News also reported.
Editor’s Note: The 2026 midterm elections will determine the fate of President Trump’s America First agenda. Republicans must maintain control of both houses of Congress.
