Rapper Toosii, 25, to play college football at Syracuse

Platinum-selling rapper Toosii is stepping away from music to play college football, despite being 25 years old.
Toosii announced his commitment to Syracuse University on social media Monday.
“For every kid who ever had a dream, make it a reality,” he wrote on X alongside photos of himself in a No. 2 Syracuse Orange uniform.
Toosii was born Nau’Jour Grainger and grew up in Syracuse before moving with his family to Raleigh, North Carolina, where he played wide receiver in high school.
He reportedly started thinking about returning to football this summer and thanked God for the comeback opportunity.
“Being born in Syracuse and moving to North Carolina at age 12 and not being back since,” he wrote. “When Coach Fran [Brown] called, I knew it was a sign from God. So that being said, because I’m going home.
The Syracuse football team ranks last in the Atlantic Coast Conference where it has lost eight straight games, including a recent 70-7 drubbing of Notre Dame.
Toosii said in a video published in 2021 by hip-hop publication XXL that a soccer teammate from his youth gave him his nickname, which he spells with two i’s because “it takes two eyes to see vision.”
It’s unclear where the “Favorite Song” rapper will line up at Syracuse or if he has been offered a scholarship.
