UN’s Guterres pledges support for Ukraine’s reconstruction
UN secretary general António Guterres promised support on Monday in Ukraine, who was attacked more than three years ago by Russia, for a potential reconstruction effort.
During a conversation with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, at the fourth United Nations Conference on Development Financing in Seville, South Spain, the United Nations underlined the United Nations commitment to support the efforts of the Ukrainian government to meet humanitarian, reconstructions and recovery needs, said its spokesperson.
Guterres also stressed the importance of reaching a complete, immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Ukraine. He said it would be a first step towards just, complete and sustainable peace that fully respects the Charter of the United Nations, international law and resolutions of the General Assembly.
