How time goes by. I first reviewed the original urban arrow in 2020, when my children were 3 and 5 years old. At the time, nothing was rejoicing more than two preschool children than embarrassing themselves in a large motorized cargo bike and rushing into the city, screaming, with the wind blowing in their tiny faces. Alas, they are now 8 and 10 years old. When I picked up my 8 year old child two days ago, he crouched in the box being seated on the padded seats (with safety belts!) So that none of his friends can see him.

All this to say: my GSD of dull and I are great friends, but I want my children to be five years younger, so I could have bought the pro Familynext Pro instead. The new Urban Arrow electric cargo bike has a lot of great improvements, is easier to drive than ever and is even more useful as my children age.

With the naked eye, the two largest upgrades of the Familyxt Pro are a loading box and a newly redesigned suspension on the front fork. (It is also delivered in a new wise green green, but unfortunately, my demonstration bike was in black.)

The box is completely different – my friend asked me if my bike was longer. It is longer and thinner, with rounded corners instead of those square, and there are now headlights on the bike. It has shorter sides, so it is easier to enter and go out. Unlike other bakfitics or box bikes I tried, the box is much lower on the ground. I can confirm that during my tests, adults and children had an easy time to go up and go out.

The box is made from enlarged polypropylene foam (EPP), which is initially disconcerting – it very easily shows bumps and bumps. However, Urban Arrow describes it as “a helmet upside down”, and the moss amortized reassured me that even if I let the bike switch, my children or my friends would not immediately hit the sidewalk. You can also easily replace the foam in the event of a crash or another unsightly event.

The front loading box now has a front fork with 60 millimeters of travel. I really love it. This is really a security problem when you go quickly with 60 to 150 pounds in the front box. I was sailing at 20 MPH and I was hitting a pupil nest, and I just went out right away.
