Hunter Biden Remarks About Kamala Harris Are a Complete Mess, Confirm More Dem Chaos on the Horizon – RedState

I must love it. Hunter Biden has reappeared, saying a few things that aren’t very helpful to the Democratic Party.
He hasn’t been happy that they’ve sidelined his father, Joe, and not given him the respect he thinks he’s due, and he let various Democrats have him in a scathing interview with YouTuber Andrew Callaghan in July.

Recently, Hunter sat down for an interview with Substack writer Tommy Christopher. Biden expressed deep disappointment over what he heard about failed 2024 Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris’ new book, calling her comments “personally painful.”
Christopher posted part of this interview on Mediaite – it’s a long and incoherent rambling. I selected some of the most consistent parts.
I haven’t read it. I really didn’t. I’m just really disappointed. I just heard some things. I tried to block it. [….]
And, uh… And I don’t know, I have to admit, it’s personally painful.
I just think that people particularly like the vice president, it’s… I guess my… Personally, you know, my sense of loyalty. Is it up to her, in a book, to try to distance herself and take what I would call the really easy route to distance herself.
To…what I suppose she’s thinking. I think the biggest criticism of the vice president has always been that, what I never believed, and I really believe, is that she is not authentic.[….]
And I think I’m doing something so inauthentic. The way she did it, the critics allowed her to play both sides, right?
Like, oh, she had a feeling, but she didn’t say anything. (Laughs) What are you talking about? Like, what are you talking about?
…Anyway, but it makes me, again, it’s like you now, because I really love, I love what she stood for, and I love that my dad made the decision.
So, let me talk to you about loyalty. The reason he chose Kamala Harris is because he believes, and I certainly believe, that the most powerful force within the Democratic Party is and always has been African American women.
They are the heart, soul and conscience of the Democratic Party. And that’s why he thought it was so important to have her, not to have her, and besides, she had an incredible resume and is perfectly capable of being president of the United States and I would have happily voted for her.
He chose her out of loyalty and I just don’t understand, I guess I don’t understand why anyone would choose the more expedient path when it comes to this relationship, their own political opportunism.
So if I had to narrow it down, he’s deeply disappointed she did something “so inauthentic” and she was “playing both sides of the coin.” He seems to blame her for saying she “had a feeling” but said nothing. I guess it’s about Joe Biden’s health.
But the last part is the most coherent and perhaps the most interesting. He is upset by her loyalty and explains that he thinks she was chosen because she was an African-American woman. He then quickly added that she had an “amazing resume.” But he didn’t understand why she would take the “fast route” to say anything negative.
Megyn Kelly aired a clip of the interview on her show with guests Mark Halperin, Dan Turrentine and Sean Spicer. She pointed out what Hunter said about Harris being chosen by Joe Biden because she was black.
“They did a great disservice to qualified people…”

Turrentine, a former Democratic activist, acknowledged that was why she was chosen and that none of it was helpful to Democrats, with Hunter and Kamala saying negative things, a Joe Biden book and even a Jill Biden book on the horizon. “We’re not done with this. It doesn’t help us move forward,” Turrentine said.
“And then you have Karine Jean-Pierre saying, ‘What? I didn’t see anything,’ which is just crazy,” he finished. Turrentine noted that some people wanted the KJP to leave her position in the White House, but were afraid of acting against her and offending various segments of the party.
Halperin said she was “unambiguous and unqualified.” They discussed what ultimately caused the KJP to split from the Democratic Party, relating to how it was treated in the White House.

Turrentin summed it up: we had to stop identity politics. It wasn’t just that Joe Biden was in trouble at the end, but that “the inner workings of the White House were a complete disaster.”
Yes I know. The more they become confused and attack each other, the better for Republicans and the country. While they fight, we can govern and get things done.
So yes, Hunter and Kamala, keep serving each other.
