USC vs. Purdue: 3 key questions Trojans face in Big Ten opener
The unknown route through the Big Ten Country was not exactly welcoming for the USC during its in -conference in 2024. The Trojan horses destroyed an advance in the fourth quarter during their four trips on the Big Ten road outside Los Angeles last season, each apparently more devastating loss than the previous one.
While the USC takes place on his second swing through the Big Ten, starting with a trip to West Lafayette, in Ind., Saturday, he tried to solve this problem in a large and small way – to replace the strength and packaging coach for the modification of the hours of sleep and meals of the team.
These changes will be put to the test this week when the USC crosses two time zones. Part of this new approach includes taking a completely different plane to get there, one with a little more space to stretch during a long flight.

Purdue should make things a little more uncomfortable for the USC than its two previous opponents. The boilermakers are 2-0 to start under the new coach Barry Odom, who brought 54 transfers to rebuild a team that finished 1-11, the last death of the conference last season.
Riley may not have a lot of handle on Purdue staff, but he should have a fairly good idea for what drivers will prefer in attack. After all, Purdue’s offensive coordinator Josh Henson passed the two previous seasons as a coordinator and coordinator of the Riley offensive line at the USC.
“He turns against us too,” said Riley. “So these things go somehow in both directions. There will obviously be certain things that the two parties know because of this. But it’s a game of players at the end of the day.”
