“So when I got pregnant, I was an independent artist. I worked with this company called Platoon working in the United Kingdom. And when you are an artist, although you are a human, you are technically the business,” said Monet on the Podcast. “So, having to explain to someone who is a partner in your business that your business can slow down because of pregnancy, is difficult, but it is also something that you are supposed to feel festive.”

Platoon is a musical distribution company based in London and creative services that helps stimulate independent artists before signing agreements with large labels.

After announcing the news of her trading partner for Zoom, Monet said that she had received a presentation telling her how difficult and expensive to raise a child.

“Retrospectively, it was really, really discouraging,” admitted Monet. “I had a person in my team, although the intentions were good, really, really injured my feelings because they made me a PowerPoint presentation on the difficulty [sic] Be for me. “”

Monet called for this a “very emotional” experience, but said that it had left him a “fight” to prove that maternity did not have to derail his career.

“And I got out of this meeting … With this same fight that I had when I left the house. I’m going to do that. It’s my body, and I’m going to make it work even if it’s difficult,” she recalls.

She did not believe that the person wanted to “harm him” but wanted them to understand that having a child was a “big decision” which would have an impact on their career.
