Best hotels for Stagecoach Music Festival that combine convenience and comfort

Stagecoach, America’s biggest country music party returns to the desert April 24-26, 2026.
Rolling into the city of Indio, California every Spring, this festival has grown from a humble hoedown into the ultimate West Coast gathering for country fans and the curious alike. It’s the laid-back boot-scootin’ (and sometimes boot-kickin’) cousin to the sparklier (yes, I’m making that a word) Coachella Music Festival, trading quirky abstract art installations for cowboy hats and electronic beats for steel guitar.
Whether you’re a die-hard fan of traditional twang, have gravitated into the space with the more modern introduction of contemporary country, or just there for a real good time, Stagecoach offers a mix of legends, fresh faces, and downright unexpected guests that’ll have you yelling “yeehaw” by sundown.
However, unless you plan on camping out at the festival grounds, the next step after securing your Stagecoach tickets is booking your accommodations. In an otherwise quite area, Coachella Valley’s desert cities explode with travelers during festival season. To help you plan your trip, I’ve compiled all the best hotels for your Stagecoach stay.
Where to Stay in Coachella Valley
Coachella Valley is made up of a handful of unique desert cities. Stagecoach Music Festival is located in the city of Indio, but the cities are all reasonably close to each other so the best place to stay boils down more to your budget and preferences.
Indio, California
Outside of camping at the literal fairgrounds, grabbing a hotel in Indio is the closest hotel stay you can get. These are often the first to book up, so make sure to jump on these reservations as soon as you are confirmed going to Stagecoach.
Cathedral City
Cathedral City is a great in-between in terms of price. It’s not quite as close to Indio, but it’s also not as far away as Palm Springs. It’s a quieter option with still great restaurants and shops nearby if you decide to stick around longer than the music festival activities.
Best Western Plus Coachella Valley Inn & Suites
(Best Western Hotels & Resorts)
Palm Springs
One of my favorite cities in the USA, I need no additional reasons to show love to Palm Springs. It definitely has the most things to do in Coachella Valley, as well as incredible restaurants, boutique shops, and easy access into the outdoors.
Rancho Mirage
Rancho Mirage is on the closer side to Indio, but with a more affordable price tag. It’s very close to the casino (in fact, the hotel is amazing) and the properties in Rancho Mirage are spacious, making it a great option for groups.
The Bird House in Rancho Mirage
(The Maimon Group)
La Quinta
Okay divas and divos, La Quinta is for you. It’s close to Indio but more upscale and very comfortable. I usually stay here for music festivals since you don’t have to deal with traffic and it’s close to lots of boutique shops and one of my favorite restaurants in Coachella Valley (Cork & Fork).
Desert Hot Springs/Palm Desert
If you’re in the mood for a calmer stay, head to either Desert Hot Springs (farther away) or Palm Desert (closer). They are both low-key spots that specialize in health and wellness, so you can come back from the festival and soak your feet in one of the many hot tubs on the property, and book yourself a massage for the next morning!
