This seems similar to the incident covered by my colleague Rusty Weiss, which Pretti experienced a week before he was killed.
Alex Pretti reportedly suffered a broken rib about a week before his fatal shooting when federal agents attacked him after he tried to intervene in an immigration enforcement operation.
Sources told CNN that Pretti stopped his car after spotting ICE agents pursuing “a family on foot,” and began yelling and whistling to intervene. They say this action prompted several officers to arrest him.
Pretti reportedly told a source that “five officers attacked him and one leaned on his back – an encounter that left him with a broken rib.”
