US Secret Service Releases Statement After ‘Shooting Incident’ at WHCD – RedState

Now, Anthony Guglielmi, the chief of communications for the U.S. Secret Service, has posted a statement in a post on X:

It reads: 

Shooting Incident At White House Correspondents Dinner

The U.S. Secret Service, in coordination with the Metropolitan Police Department, is investigating a shooting incident near the main magnometer screening area at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. The president and the first lady are safe along [with] all protectees. One individual is in custody. The condition of those involved is not yet known, and law enforcement is actively accessing the situation.





On Feb. 28, the USSS released a statement announcing that the agency would be taking “enhanced security postures,” and “the public may notice an increased law enforcement and federal presence around U.S. Secret Service protected sites.” due to “the situation in Iran and remains in close coordination with our federal and local partners.”
