Video shows handcuffed woman shoot deputy using gun hidden in her pants

Surveillance video obtained exclusively by Channel 9 shows how woman escaped handcuffs and later shot a Marion County deputy.

Marion County deputy who arrested 22-year-old man, records show Rheanna Harden I checked it three times but never found the hidden weapon in his pants.

Deputies said Harden was “flexible enough” to pull a gun out of his pants and open fire while she was inside a deputy cruiser.

The video shows that she was able to remove her left hand from her handcuffs at least once. Court records indicate the deputy handcuffed her a total of three times.

According to the sheriff’s office, the deputy arrested Harden for driving with a suspended license, providing a false ID to law enforcement and drug possession.

Investigators said that although Harden was handcuffed behind her back and searched before her arrest, she was able to shoot the deputy using a small revolver hidden in her pants.

According to court records, Harden told investigators she was angry about the way she was treated on the way to prison. She told investigators she said a prayer moments before opening fire.

The officer hit his car, but got out of the vehicle and returned fire. Remarkably, neither Harden nor the deputy were seriously injured.

Harden faces several charges, including attempted murder of a law enforcement officer.

His next court date is scheduled for January 9.

She has an extensive criminal history in Bay County, which includes fleeing and eluding law enforcement officers, as well as robbery.
