New York Jets Flight Connections 12/19/25

The New York Jets signed quarterback Hendon Hooker to the practice squad yesterday. Hooker is only in his third season in the NFL, but he turns 28 in less than four weeks. Hooker threw nine passes in the NFL. Needless to say, this is unlikely to be a signing with significant upside potential. Rather, it appears the Jets are signing an emergency replacement that they have some familiarity with from Hooker’s days with the Detroit Lions. With Brady Cook starting at quarterback on Sunday, if Hooker is the backup, it would arguably be the worst duo ever to man the starting and primary quarterback positions in a Jets game. This would be less than ideal, unless you are a tank commander.
