WATCH: Law enforcement takes down illegal alien after he rams ICE vehicles

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has arrested an illegal immigrant who the agency says “weaponized” his vehicle by crashing into two ICE vehicles, nearly running over an agent.

Cuban illegal alien Robyn Argote Brooks crashed into two ICE cars in a San Antonio parking lot in an attempt to escape arrest during a targeted vehicle stop, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

Video captured of the incident shows Brooks, who was driving a sedan and surrounded by officers’ vehicles, defying law enforcement instructions and abruptly reversing, narrowly missing an officer and striking a federal SUV. After unsuccessfully accelerating into the larger vehicle, Brooks then rams into another ICE vehicle in front of him, a sedan, and continues to accelerate while officers attempt to stop him.

Eventually, an officer broke through Brooks’ window and removed him from the car to make the arrest. The incident occurred Tuesday and comes amid heightened concern about illegal aliens and anti-ICE agitators who are violently trying to disrupt federal law enforcement operations.

DHS said ICE agents are currently facing a 3,200 percent increase in vehicle attacks. The agency reported that between January 21, 2025 and January 7, 2026, ICE agents experienced 66 “vehicular attacks,” compared to just two during the same period the previous year.

DHS Deputy Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said one of the ICE agents involved in the arrest was injured and said, “We are praying for him, for his health and for his family.”

She placed the blame squarely on pro-sanctuary politicians, who she said “encouraged illegal aliens to evade arrest.”

“They have created an environment that incites violence against our law enforcement,” McLaughlin said, adding that officers are also facing “a more than 1,300 percent increase in assaults against them.”

“Secretary Noem has been clear: anyone who attacks law enforcement will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” she warned.

According to the agency, Brooks entered the United States under the Biden administration’s CBP One application in 2024, which it said “allowed more than 1 million unscreened aliens to enter the country.”

Brooks is currently in ICE custody.

Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons said Tuesday that federal immigration agents face “constant obstacles” and “constant attacks.”

“When we hear elected officials calling for individuals to impede or impede ICE law enforcement operations nationwide, you’re going to see incidents like this,” Lyons said. “You saw the officers and agents trying to apprehend an illegal alien, and there they use their car as a weapon.”

Lyons said one of the officers involved later went to the hospital with neck injuries.

“Every day, this is what the men and women of ICE face,” he said. “There are constant obstacles, constant attacks like this. And it’s not safe for my parents, it’s not safe for the public. This really needs to stop.”
