Watch: Al Green Has a Normal One, Gets Deported From the SOTU
Well, we knew the Democrats’ antics before and during President Donald Trump’s Tuesday night State of the Union address wouldn’t disappoint, and that’s surely not the case so far, with Democratic Rep. Al Green (TX-09) continuing his tradition of being kicked out of Trump’s presidential speeches by being kicked out of this one as well.
Green was seen at the start of Trump’s speech holding up a “Black people are not monkeys” sign. He was expelled shortly after:
House Majority Leader Steve Scalise slipped the sign as he entered with the president, and several GOP members, including Reps. Pat Fallon of Texas and John McGuire of Virginia, tried to block the sign from cameras. Rep. Troy Nehls of Texas also tried to convince Green to step down, while Republican Senators Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma and Roger Marshall of Kansas approached to stand in front of the panel just before he was forced out.
[…]Green, who has repeatedly sought to impeach Trump, was booted from last year’s speech after interrupting Trump and brandishing his cane at him. He remained standing until the start of his speech Tuesday, holding the sign while the rest of the room sat.
