Netflix is bidding farewell to a popular TV series in the new year, which means subscribers don’t have much time to watch it. You will have to take advantage of the limited availability of the show on the streaming platform. So, whether it’s starting the series for the first time or rewatching your favorite episodes, time is running out to access Lost via Netflix.
The streaming service drops various TV shows and movies every month, with films like Back to the future And AND the alien leaving Netflix in December 2025. In the new year, this will be the case again. Unfortunately, for Lost fans and those who wish to discover it, it will no longer be available for streaming on Netflix in early 2026.
Lost will leave Netflix in January 2026
December 31, 2025 will be the last day to watch Lost on Netflix, as it is set to leave the streaming platform on New Year’s Day 2026. The sci-fi adventure drama television series originally premiered on ABC on September 22, 2004 and ran for six seasons and 121 episodes, with its finale airing on May 23, 2010. During its run, Lost became one of the greatest television shows of all time.
Created by Jeffrey Lieber, JJ Abrams and Damon Lindelof, Lost begins with the crash of Oceanic Airlines Flight 815 on what appears to be a deserted island in the Pacific Ocean. The flight departed from Australia, with a final destination in Los Angeles, California. Unfortunately, it did not arrive in the United States.
During the popular series, you watch the characters explore the mysterious island and learn about their lives before the plane crash via flashbacks. I can’t say much more about LostThe complex plot of without revealing any spoilers. But what you need to know is that nothing is ever what it seems; Lost is a science fiction show, after all.
Why all six seasons of Lost are worth watching
Many claim that Lost is one of the best shows in television history, and for good reason. While the finale and season six as a whole remain sources of controversy even decades after they aired, no one can debate the impact that the entire ABC sci-fi adventure drama had (and still has) on television. Lost just wouldn’t be Lost without his last season.
Those who have a dislike for season six should not skip it. After all, it holds the fence. But even without the final season, Lost is still considered one of the greatest television series of all time. Critics and audiences alike have consistently praised the ABC series for its shocking and complex mysteries and storylines, character development, cast performances, emotion, cinematography and much more.
It’s an impressive feat for any TV series that receives praise in its first season to maintain its momentum into its second season and beyond. Lost was able to achieve this. His quality has rarely wavered, which is why he is so revered by many. Also, if you’re one of those who actually enjoyed the finale, myself included, Lost is the perfect show.
Everyone should check Lost. Even if sci-fi isn’t your thing, the series has other elements that will keep your attention. The TV series is clearly worth checking out, all six seasons and 121 episodes long, while you still have the chance. We don’t have much time to do this, because Lost will no longer be among the best shows to watch on Netflix starting January 1, 2026.

Where to watch Lost after leaving Netflix
The good news is that Lost won’t disappear from the streaming world forever when it leaves Netflix on January 1, 2026. The series will still be available on Hulu (and subsequently on Disney+ if you have the Hulu/Disney+ plan) in the new year. It simply won’t be available to Netflix subscribers after December 31, 2025. So even if you don’t finish all six seasons, you can pick up where you left off on Hulu.
You can also watch Lost through digital media stores such as Apple TV, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video and Fandango at Home. However, this will cost you extra money. For example, an individual Lost Season 1 episodes in HD cost $2.99 on Amazon Prime Video, while the entire season in HD costs $24.99. Costs for other seasons on Amazon Prime Video vary, as do prices on the other platforms mentioned above.
There is also always a chance that Lost will return to Netflix’s streaming library. Often, TV shows that leave the platform will eventually be re-added, depending on Netflix’s licensing agreements with studios and production companies. The powers that be at Netflix can renegotiate a deal, resulting in the return of a TV series. Only time will tell if Netflix will ever bring Lost back, though. Until then, it will be available to stream on Hulu.
