Watch: This MSI mini PC has a special power feature you don’t often see

The mini PCs are ideal for integrating into a tight office workspace, which is why many of them can be mounted at the back of a monitor on a VESA plate. But to turn it on, you must always turn it on. And if you could do this as a modern TV with a console or a sound bar, just by pressing the monitor’s power button? This little MSI Mini PC does exactly that.
Adam Patrick Murray has the MSI Cubi Nuc ai + 2mg in the PCworld laboratories, and as he did with the latest mini PCs, he dismantles it in our last YouTube PCWORLD video.
The exterior has some interesting features, including a fingerprint scanner on the power button and a header port so that you can run a secondary power button on a cable. The interior is a little funny, because an internal speaker is mounted on the lower plate, something that you do not always see. With an Intel Lunar Lake laptop chipset (Ultra 7 258V in this case), you get a memory included on the CPU itself, so that the only things that the user can serve are the SSD (Standard M.2 2280) and the Wi-Fi card.
The rear of the device contains its unique sales argument: an HDMI port with CEC functionality. “Consumer Electronics Control” simply means that a few things can be done on HDMI, including complete power and deactivated for one or the other component. With a compatible monitor that can manage HDMI 2.1 and CEC, you can press the monitor The power button and the PC start.
With the Cubi mounted at the back of the instructor, you have mainly rolled your own all-in-one office pc, such as iMac or similar conceptions. Neat! This is definitely focused on the business market, perhaps for use in an area with several users who will not need to contact to adjust things. (The integrated speaker has a little more sense in this regard.)
The MSI Cubi Nuc Ai + 2mg does not yet seem to be on sale in the United States, but it should come for too long. For more looks on the latest mini PCs, be sure to subscribe to PCWORLD on Youtube and consult our weekly podcast Le Nerd Full.
