Way clear for Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s $14B acquisition of Juniper after Justice Dept settlement

Hewlett Packard Enterprise concluded a regulation with the Ministry of Justice which could open the way to its takeover of $ 14 billion in rival juniper networks.

The Ministry of Justice had continued to block the acquisition, saying that it could eliminate competition, increase prices and reduce innovation.

The regulations, which is subject to the approval of the court, calls for Hewlett Packard Enterprise to give in his world moment on campus and branches. Hewlett Packard Enterprise will facilitate limited access to the MIST AIOPS advanced technology of juniper once the agreement is completed.

“Our agreement with the DOJ opens the way of concluding the acquisition by HPE of Juniper Networks and preserves the expected advantages of this agreement for our customers and shareholders, while creating greater competition on the global network of networks,” said Antonio Neri, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Hpe, in a press release.

Last year, Hewlett Packard Enterprise announced that he was buying merchant networks for $ 40 per share in an agreement that should double HPE networking activities. Juniper provides routers, switching equipment and security products for the headquarters of its head office in Sunnyvale, California.

The intervention of the Ministry of Justice – the first in the new administration and only 10 days after the inauguration of Donald Trump – was somewhat surprising at the time. Most of them provided that a second Trump administration would affect the application of the antitrust law and would be more receptive to mergers and the agreement after years of hypervigilance under the supervision of former President Joe Biden.

The actions of Hewlett Packard Enterprise increased by more than 12% during the negotiations on Monday afternoon, while the shares of Juniper Networks increased by more than 8%.
