We Are Rewind Is Making Limited-Edition Elvis Cassette Player

Oh, baby. Dust off your blue suede shoes and get ready for more Elvis puns than you know what to do with. In keeping with the revival of sorts that old-school analog cassettes have been having, retro audio gear makers We Are Rewind are about to get you all shook up, announcing the launch of its Limited Edition Elvis Presley Cassette Player box set.
Just in time for the holidays, the Paris-based niche audio company responsible for this sweet boombox, is releasing a limited 1,957 units of the Elvis Presley Limited Edition Box Set. The $199 package includes a custom-designed, “ELVIS”-emblazoned version of its popular WE-001 cassette player, which features Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a built-in rechargeable battery with 12 hours of playback time, satisfying analog buttons, and line-in recording capabilities for making mixtapes.
The cassette player’s matte black and red-highlighted design with gold detailing pays direct homage to Elvis’ classic 1968 Comeback Special, where The King crooned his hits in front of a lit-up red marquee of his name, which was made of light bulbs.
Ensuring that you won’t have a blue Christmas, We Are Rewind has bundled the cassette player with a limited reissue cassette of the timeless Elvis Christmas Album. A holiday staple (well, for your parents, anyway), the classic record from 1957 (hence the 1,957 units) is still one of the best-selling Christmas albums of all time, and features staples like Silent Night, White Christmas,Santa Claus Is Back In Town, and of course, Blue Christmas. Any self-respecting Elvis man (or woman) would love it.
The We Are Rewind Elvis Presley Limited Edition box set also comes presented in a slick-looking collector’s box with a shiny gold foil-stamped logo featuring The King’s iconic silhouette.
Vintage physical media formats like vinyl records and CDs continue to rise in popularity, bringing back retro gadgets like CD players, turntables, and even older film and digital format cameras. Older generations of music lovers are largely by nostalgia, but it’s no secret that younger fans are turning to physical media for its tactile experience, as well as to escape the clutches of expensive streaming services—many like the idea of actually owning their music.
The We Are Rewind Elvis Limited Edition box set is available for pre-order now (October 15) at the We Are Rewind website and costs $199. Remember, though, there are only 1,957 copies being made, so a little less conversation, a little more action might be in order. Thank you. Thank you very much.
