Now Instagram Is Down Too

If you’ve just tried to open Instagram on your phone or computer, only to find that nothing loads, don’t worry: it’s not your wifi and Verizon isn’t experiencing another outage. Rather, the fault lies with Meta, because Instagram is currently down. That’s according to Downdetector, owned by Lifehacker parent company Ziff Davis, which has more than 2,000 user reports of issues with Instagram as of this writing.
The problems seem to affect Instagram in all its forms. While the mobile app was working last time I checked, I couldn’t load it in Safari. This means you may not be able to view posts, add new posts, or send and receive DMs, at least until Meta discovers the cause of the problem.
What do you think of it so far?
Inevitably, of course, this will happen: outages and downtime will happen, although it seems like this week they are happening more and more frequently. There was, of course, Verizon (which the company blamed on a software glitch), but also issues with Yahoo!, X, and Microsoft 365. There’s something in the air this week, it seems. Whatever is going on with Instagram, Meta will definitely figure it out in due time. Usually these issues are resolved fairly quickly, but if there is a more serious problem, we Instagram users may have to go without the app for a while.
