Barnegat Township, NJ – A minke whale died from the shore of New Jersey after a collision that almost switched a small boat and threw a person over board.

The video on social networks of the collision in Barnegat bay on Saturday afternoon shows that the motor boat was sworn after the impact and the 20-foot (6 meters) whales near the machine before swimming. The person thrown over board manages to walk on the water next to the boat.

The whale was found dead after arriving on a sandbank in shallow waters. The marine authorities were unable to get closer to the whale due to the tidal conditions, according to the Marine Mammal Stranding Center, an organization of rescue, rehabilitation and non -profit release.

“At this point, we really don’t have much to do,” said Jay Pagel, a central coordinator at the center on Sunday. “The side of the animal we have observed had no obvious brand that we could see. But again, our visibility was very limited. ”

Pagel said there were reports that the whale had injuries before capturing the video collision. He noted that there was a second video published online which seems to show the whale in contact with a pontoon boat after the initial collision.

The animal will be towed to a state park on Monday morning for a necropsy to determine the cause of death.
