Spartan forward snubbed from Team Canada’s World Juniors roster

Michigan State hockey got a massive boost to it’s roster in 2025-26 when it landed the commitment of Cayden Lindstrom, a 6-foot-3 and 220 pound forward. The 2024 fourth overall pick by the Columbus Blue Jackets, Lindstrom was determined to get his career back on track after an injury made him miss the 2024-25 season with the Medicine Hat Tigers of the WHL.
After missing nearly 18 months, and now in East Lansing, he is finding his footing in elite hockey once again. A small injury has hiccupped his year with the Spartans, but he has still appeared in 11 games this season. Lindstrom has scored 1 goal and added 2 assists this year.

With the 2026 Word Juniors Ice Hockey Championship being right around the corner, the Chetwynd, British Columbia native was hoping to get the call from Team Canada. Unfortunately, that was not the case, and he was snubbed from the Canadian roster.
In a glass half full approach to the situation, Lindstrom will get a chance to showcase himself in the Great Lakes Invitational with a ton of Spartans being absent for the World Juniors.
