Liberal Media Exposes Its Bias With This Incredible Hot Take on Letitia James Indictment – RedState

We broke the stunning news Thursday that New York Attorney General Letitia James had been indicted by a federal grand jury in Virginia.
A federal grand jury in Virginia charged James with bank fraud and making false statements to a financial institution. The indictment relates to James’ purchase of a house in Norfolk. Prosecutors allege she falsely declared it as a second home in order to obtain better loan terms before renting it to tenants. [….]
“No one is above the law. The charges in this case represent intentional criminal acts and enormous breaches of public trust,” Halligan said. “The facts and law in this case are clear, and we will continue to follow them to ensure justice is served.”
James has denied the accusations and called the indictment “political retaliation.” The liberal media are, of course, liberal media and fit perfectly into the Democratic discourse.

One of the worst takes had to be CNN’s Kasie Hunt. This is the “Everyone Does It” take.
CNN: “Everyone in America is committing mortgage fraud!” »
– Breaking911 (@Breaking911) October 10, 2025
On CNN’s “The Arena,” Hunt said:
“We’re still getting the details, but if it’s related to this mortgage issue, I mean it’s something that everyone in America, or at least a lot of people, if you’re lucky enough to be able to buy a house in America, you have to take care of it, right? The federal government isn’t going after all these people, uh, for doing this.”
This is a pretty amazing take. No, not everyone does, and many Americans responded to this clip on X to assure Kasie Hunt of that.
What happened to the Democratic and media slogan “No one is above the law”?

Can we remind Hunt of Letitia James’ own words?
When powerful people cheat to get better loans, it comes at the expense of hard-working people.
Ordinary Americans can’t lie to a bank to get a mortgage, and if they did, our government would throw up their noses.
There simply cannot be different rules for different people.

Why didn’t they adopt this “Everyone’s doing it” approach when it came to President Donald Trump? The hypocrisy and prejudice are incredible.
Apparently the media was OK with the fact that James ran on the promise of getting Trump. Where has the media highlighted the problems that exist? This was not considered an attack on a political opponent. They don’t seem to have a problem with it, and most have no problem with the law being made into a pretzel in the process.
The first five minutes of CNN’s discussion of the Letitia James indictment focuses solely on Trump, retaliation, the DOJ, etc. Finally, someone briefly mentions the merits of the case. His take: “She has a problem. » The discussion quickly returns to Trump, retaliation, the DOJ, etc.

The media could try to distort this affair and talk about political reprisals.
But the media can’t change the facts in this case, and the jury will see them.
