What Federico Chiesa is demanding after Rio Ngumoha Champions League blow
Arne Slot’s decision to leave Federico Chiesa from his Liverpool team for the first stages of the Champions League caused some surprise.
Chiesa, 27, seemed to be on the return path in the eyes of the Reds head coach – winning a place in the first team team for each of the first three games of the Premier League season and scoring a vital goal against Bournemouth.

After a difficult first season on the Merseyid for International Italy, he seemed to have finally put his injury problems behind him and showing the kind of form that convinced Richard Hughes to spend what could end up being 12.5 million pounds sterling for him.
Rio Ngumoha was chosen instead – and Chiesa will be left to think about the decision throughout the fall and winter until the release of the second phase.
Indeed, there were interests generated by Chiesa of Serie A – including AC Milan, Atalanta, Napoli and Roma.
And now, a report in the Gazzetta dello Sport revealed why Chiesa was determined to stick to the winners of the Premier League title – despite the first team football opportunities – not to mention European participation – elsewhere.

“He thinks that it is more useful to compete with the best players in a high -level club rather than risking embarrassment in the event of a return to Serie A or a movement elsewhere that does not meet expectations,” said the report.
This demonstrates a good attitude on the part of Chiesa – which is contracted in Reds until 2028.
He is determined to succeed in his stay at the club and will not throw in the towel. Hopefully positivity is rewarded this season – and it can still bounce from this last blow.
