What Happened to the $500 Gold Trump Phone?

Late last year, a customer support representative for Trump mobile reportedly said that we shouldn’t expect the phone to be released in December and that the US government shutdown has delayed the phone’s delivery. This is what a report from the Financial Times reveals. A representative for Trump Mobile did not respond to a request for comment.
As of January 22, the phone’s web page still said it would be released “later this year”, the same as last year.
The saga began when Trump Mobile launched in June with a $47.45 per month cell phone planclaiming that he would launch a smart phone manufactured in the United States by August 2025. Faced with overwhelming evidence that making a smartphone entirely in the United States at scale is virtually impossible, Trump Mobile I came back to these statements.
Currently, Trump mobile is still accepting $100 deposits for the T1 phone, which it calls “Proudly American,” with features like a 6.25-inch AMOLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, 256GB of storage with an expansion card slot, and a 50-megapixel camera.
The Trump Mobile website now also offers refurbished competing phones from Apple and Samsung, including one for $629. iPhone15 and a $459 Samsung Galaxy S24.
