What The F1 Movie Got Right And Wrong About Formula 1

Looking at F1: the filmI had a notebook and a pen and totalized the number of women represented as APXGP employees, both on the track and the factory. It is possible to have missed it in the seconds of the fraction that I feared to nibble on popcorn, but at the end of the film, I had only spotted four women in the team uniform.
Now, I don’t want to complain too much, because I think it was great that the character of Kerry Condon, Kate, is described as the team’s technical director and one of the main players in the film. However, given that she was the most eminent female character in the film, I was not obsessed with the fact that they question her professionalism by making her fall in love with Sonny, as if she could not help herself.
In addition, I think we could have done with a few additional women working on the fictitious APXGP team. Of course, the Paddock F1 has long been dominated by men, both in cars and outside, but times change, and there are more women than ever in roles in the paddock. In this spirit, I would have liked to see a better representation of this in the film. Would that have been so difficult?
